Yet another stupid question

Hi guys , sorry if I am being stupid but, is it possible to select a number of faces an split them into an object. ie a loco cab modeled as a box , then select the faces that make the top of the box , split them to make a seperate part then scale that part to make the cab roof overhang.?

I was going to ask a similar question to see if there was a split function to create an object out of selected faces, I’m getting bored of cutting, pasting and adjusting the positions back to 0.0 – time for another plugin.

Jason – have you tried my Cab/Bunker Builder plugin? – it builds the overhang too.
