Weird problem with animation tool bar

I found the problem. Animation works now without kicking me back to desktop

I am using 3DC pro,ver .1.2.Winxp,service pak 2
I am working on a new engine and all has been fine up until now. The problem I am having now is that the animation tool bar takes a long time to load and after it loads and I click on the animation button nothing happens.The little hour glass just sits there churning away and after about 45 seconds I get kicked out of 3DC back to the desktop. I can import the engine .igs file and import the engine .ia file and run the animation no problem.Any suggestions as to what has happened.
