Views getting messed-up

3DC 8 has a Help menu item to reset all options to their defaults. It also asks if you want to reset to defaults if 3DC fails to load.

Twice since I’ve started using 3DC I’ve had problems with the 4-pane view becoming unusable. The first time was fixed by a reinstall, but the second time I had to delete the relevant registry entries before it would show four panes instead of just one perspective view. The size entries were all set to 1, which explained why there was only one pane instead of four.

I don’t know what is causing the problem, but a ‘reset views to default’ menu option would save some grief. Reinstalling with 7.2 doesn’t reset the view registry entries, and they don’t seem to be deleted if the software is uninstalled. I hope I don’t have to delete them by hand again…

I think your view issue may be due to the animation camera… It’s documented around here – I’ll look for it… Any time you use the animation camera – make sure you turn it back off… If not – you have to locate the registry entries for it to turn it off again… Re-Install is not needed… Let me see if I can find the post…
