toace was originally for RS
There is an updated version (RWAceTool)that should be used for RW that was available from [img:2p0q2sw1]http://www.railsimulator.com/support.php[/img:2p0q2sw1]
here.
You can get it from [img:2p0q2sw1]http://members.uktrainsim.com/filelib-info.php?form_fileid=21636[/img:2p0q2sw1]

This reply isn’t going to help you, but I have had no problems with RW2 and 3DC 7.1.2. The switch from RW1 to RW2 was invisible to me.

Hello,
Did you try (re)installing railsim dev tools?

I have the same error when using the Train Simulator Wizard.
I don’t use the Wizard to export.
Mind you, I still don’t know what I’m doing <!– s:roll: –><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_rolleyes.gif" alt="" title="Rolling Eyes" /><!– s:roll: –>

The version 7.1.2 wizard is pointing to the RailSimulator folder. If you use it for export, you need to manually transfer the source files from RailSimulator to RailWorks. If you don’t have RailSimulator installed on your computer, the wizard would not be able to locate the folder to export the model to.
I can not explain the message that it cannot find toace.exe

thanks for the replies guys , much appreciated.
I think the best option for me at the moment as i dont have railsimulator installed any more (just rw2) is going to be a manual export.
Again thanks for the replies guys

Even if you don’t use the wizard for the export, you may want to run it just to the point of export and then cancel. It will add the RailSim and TxAlpha fields to the models properties window for you as well as grouping your objects correctly and naming your bogies and wheels correctly.

Hi Guys,
A Quick update, I have been advise to try exporting a simple scenery object to test export. I did this , using the wizard and I get the message ‘ Your project has been exported to C:programe filessteamsteamappscommonrailworksassetsjmcsourcedeveloperaddonscenerybuildings. however when i look for the files , the folders do not exist , I have done a search for the .IGS file and it has not been created. Now I am really confused.

I am confused also.
My 8.2 version of 3DC sends files to the railworks folders when I use the wizard, but my 7.1.2 version sends the files to the railsimulator folders when I use the wizard.
It sounds to me that you somehow have the 8.2 wizard plugin associated with the 7.1.2 version of 3DC.

I think the export location has more to do with the fact that 3dc cant find toace.exe so i pointed it to the location that I had coppied that file into, I have noticed however that when i export my loco, it is not given the railworks properties when i click on an object and select properties, so it would appear that the exported isnt actually doing anything at all.
