uv map + face coordinates not like brush + face (resolved)

Push ‘Edit using face coordinates’
Drop a cube.
Select all faces
Crop a texture.

Choose uv map to apply the texture.

Checking with uv remap (or looking at the cube texture), I see the mapping is not as if I had textured each face with the brush.
It looks to me that uv map is not properly using the ‘Edit using face coordinates’ setting.

Maybe it is the cropping that is causing it. I’ll check.

I think they are the same.

But, I don’t like what 3DC does when you have three faces of a cube selected. I should look into it.

You mean uv map + face coordinates is actually like brush + face?

That’s not what I noticed at the time I posted this topic.

As you may have guessed, the idea is to use this to texture a set a faces or a whole object using face coordinates to make the texture suitable for RW export when using normal maps.

I had a second look, and it looks OK to me. The same.

This would mean that Fill tool + faces coordinates is not needed (at least we can easly wait before 3DC 9.1).

I’ll soon try to texture an object of my current cab having normal maps and export it to RW2.

I confirm that it’s working w/ 3DCrafter 8.2.4 Build 1072! <!– s:) –><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_smile.gif" alt=":)" title="Smile" /><!– s:) –> <!– s:) –><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_smile.gif" alt=":)" title="Smile" /><!– s:) –>
