Uninstall Issue ???

I’m at the point where I may have to rebuild my Vista 32 home PC… Back when we were doing the transitions from 3DCanvas to 3DCrafter I loaded many of the builds of 3DC to test them out… I did many installs and uninstalls… Something must have been mangled – now – any time I run a program on the PC the 3DC installer attempt to install itself… Normally – I hit cancel and installer uninstalls the initial files then terminates… Once terminated whatever program I was trying to run starts normally… These programs are totally unrelated to modeling or even MSTS for that matter… Every subsequest attempt to launch does the same thing… I’ve tried installing 3DC – same result – any other program still launches the 3DC installer… I’ve uninstalled 3DC – same result – any other program still launches the 3DC installer… I’ve tried cleaning all references to 3DC out of the registry – same result – any other program still launches the 3DC installer…

Any ideas what could be causing the 3DC installer to launch when I am running other programs on my PC ???

I really don’t want to do a complete rebuild…

Hi Scott,

Sounds nasty, try to do a sytem restore from a few days or a week back.
See if that helps.

Thanks Gerrit – probably won’t help – it’s been having this problem a long time – not sure when the last good config was saved… I’ll probably just have to wipe the disk and reload…

So, even after uninstalling each verison of 3DCrafter on your system, it still tries to repair 3DC when you run one of these programs?
