Transparency problems

A simple trick to make it work all the time …
I create most of my texture maps in Corel Draw and once the picture/texture map is completed, I copy everything to another page and then select only those shapes that need transparency. I color those black or gray depending on the need for transparency/translucency. Then I export both andquot;pagesandquot; to separate BMP’s and join the andquot;transparencyandquot; BMP with the other one in Paintshop or Photoshop to create the TGA file with Alpha Channel.
The trick to correct sizing of the bitmaps is to always have a boundary box (rectangle) both in the texture file and in the alpha file te ensure the picture is sized correctly to 256*256 or 512*512. This boundary rectangle stays in the transparency map and makes the first pixel transparent (black) by default… no worries with the transparencies for me …
Just my two cents …

3DCP 5.5c/5 is reversing the alpha layer. andnbsp; If I create a TGA file with cut and paste graphics from other panels to create a new panel. It opens in the materials dialog with the transparency reversed; solid is invisible, invisible parts are solid. andnbsp; If I use TGATool 2 to convert stock MSTS ACE files into TGA with no other editing, they too open and apply in reverse.

The object with such materials may or may not appear correctly in MSTS with the created S file.

Can I override the transparency property in the editing field so I can at least see what I’m working with?

Make the top left hand pixel of the texture file transparent, and the problems go away andnbsp;:)
