Hi, thanks for the comment. I thought I had covered this now. If you have looked at the ‘improvements’ page for the file transfer, I would agree with you. I didn’t intend to go into the background there. There is a new, partially completed, tutorial page ‘Using Transparency Maps as a Modelling Tool’, I think this should answer your question, but please let me know if it doesn’t.

According to Mike Pye’s tutorial you make transparencies from a .TGA file for 3DCPro. andnbsp;I do understand the original .TGA is used to make an .ACE file for MSTS. andnbsp;
Question:
3DC only reads .BMP files. andnbsp;To get a transparent texture, antialias the transparent portion of the .TGA into a .BMP and the texture of the .TGA into a separate .BMP. andnbsp;The tutorial does not explain how to get 3DCPro to read the transparent .BMP into 3DCPro and map properly to the model. andnbsp; If the transparency is selected in 3DCPro, will the model appear transparent in the appropriate place in 3DCPro or will the transparency effect only show up in MSTS.
