The plugin will generate the kin file for you.
I wrote it with the conversion of MSTS models in mind.
So non-driven wheels (and wheels with no rods) will get the kin file generated automatically.
For driven wheels, you need to add the animation into the 3DC model.
The htm help file with the plugin gives a couple of examples of exporting a wagon.
oops – looks like I forgot to include the help file in recent uploads… here it is.

I’ve just upgraded to version 7.0.1.2 and can’t get the Trainz IM export plugin to work. When I try to export (click on the main model then select the menu option) nothing happens. This is with XP on a desktop. I installed the same version and plugins on my laptop running Vista and none of the extra plugins show at all in the menu though they are ticked in options.
I’m not so concerned about Vista compatibility as long as they work with XP on my desktop. Can anyone else confirm this please ?

I can confirm there is a problem – I’ll try and fix it very soon.

Odd – all I needed to do was recompile it and it worked.
Here’s the new DLL for 7.0.1.2

Thanks very much Paul. I must say I panicked a little bit as I’d already ‘upgraded’ the model but there was obviously no need to worry <!– s:) –><!– s:) –>
I’ll go try it out now.

Yes, works just fine. Thanks again Paul <!– s:) –><!– s:) –>
BTW I need to make my own bogies. Up to now I’ve been using the nearest set from the DLS. Where do I start as far as their animation in Trainz is concerned ? Can I use a plugin ? Is there a tutorial to make a kin file ? I’m just a bit lost here so if you could just point me in the right direction, I’d be off <!– s:) –><!– s:) –>
