Trainworks and new RS Exporter

I’ll be sending a list of the changes I made for my exporter to Richard shortly, so he can update his version which should help a bit.

Richard,

I’m sure you’re aware that decapod has released a new exporter for RS. I have Trainworks but so far have been unable to install it. Can you provide some guidence on how to please?

Cheers

Stuart

I’m sure the issue relates to having the Trainworks version of 7.2, which doesn’t support additional plugins.

I have Vista64. I’ve registered the dll OK (you actually have to use the version of RegSvr32 in the syswow64 folder on Vista64). New exporter still not available. I’ve even tried replacing the old dll with the new renamed. Doesn’t work <!– s:-( –><!– s:-( –>.

Yes, the reason his exporter won’t install is that it is viewed by 3DC Trainworks as a third party plug-in. I’m not quite sure what to do about this yet. I haven’t decided wether Paul and I should have dueling plug-ins or not. <!– s:) –><!– s:) –>

No disrespect for your original work Richard but Paul seems to have found a lot of room for improvement, giving the possibility of 3DC producing models as RS shader advanced as your rival modeling products. With the possibilty of future updates to an exporter being needed for RS2:RW some simple means of providing Trainworks with the latest exporter really is essential is my opinion. Hey, why not save yourself some work and let Paul take the strain <!– s:) –><!– s:) –> ?
