You generally never remove a face to create a window.
The translucency effect is created by the alpha part of the texture.
See for example, [img:2vd6496f]http://www.3DC.com/3DCDocumentation/tutorialmstsmaterials.htm[/img:2vd6496f]
This tutorial
. It is for MSTS but the general principles are the same.

However, If you actually want to create a hole:
1) create the edges for the hole in the face (create points with divide operation + edge operation to join the points; or select 2 edges and create an edge directly with the edge operation; or use the divide operation after a face selection; adjust points coordinates as needed. With the divide operation of one edge, select the created point, hold the e and z keys: with the mouse you can move the point along the edge with the edit control).
Then delete the created face.

2) Send just $20 to Richard and get the Pro version.<!– s:D –><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_biggrin.gif" alt=":D" title="Very Happy" /><!– s:D –> . Boolean operations must be used before texturing otherwise applied textures will be lost (I hope Richard can remove some day this limitation).

I was doing a tutorial and needed to do a boolean and can not find it.I took a look at help to find that there are about 6 actions you can take, but can only find the first one on the list,or am I doing something wrong? thanks in advance wvman.

Hi,

Sorry, boolean operations are not included in Trainworks: [img:1q245ijn]http&#58;//amabilis&#46;com/forumattachments/a/tpc/f/5496093974/m/74310690341[/img:1q245ijn]
