Track Cap hierarchy problem

Thanks Gerrit, you have solved my problem. I copied your hierarchy and naming and all now appears. Your tracks look great by the way. I see a have some way to go with mine yet!

Thanks again for posting,

Stuart

I’ve sucessfully made a new track section main model which functions fine in KRS. But I’m having a problem with the Cap version. In KRS the ballast and sleepers are formed correctly but I can’t get any rails to appear. I’m sure the problem lies in the naming/hierarchy that I need in 3DC. I’m using Ballast and Rail as the tech docs require but no matter how I configure these as objects/groups I just can’t get the rails to appear as well. I’m exporting manually.

Has anyone suceeded recreating new track junctions in 3DC? What naming and hierarchy did you use?

Thanks

Stuart

Hi Stuart,

Yes, it might be in the naming of the objects.
Here is my hierarchy that works.

Note the capital B and R in the group names.
If i change ‘Ballast’ in ‘ballast’, the ballast disappears in Rail Simulator.
Also the rail should be exactly in the middle and symmetrical.

The extra cube in my hierarchy is there to get the ballast at 0,0,0 (x,y,z) without positioning it at the lower left of the workspace and is not exported to Rail Simulator, just select ballast (The last one) and export through the file menu. Do not let 3DC make lods , these are already defined in the hierarchy.

I hope this makes sense, my english is not to good.

Regards
Gerrit
