The office (WIP)

Getting very off topic here but what do you think of flat screens? I use 1600 x 1200 resolution for 3DC – can flat screens handle this resolution do you know?

Also any recommendations re graphics card best suited to 3DC would be useful.

A useful tip yet again Kirk

Much easier to get some realistic curves with your method.

Paul

Hi Kirk,

Yes I know the texture needs attention, I’ll have to experiment,

The chair was so simple – just two scaled cubes suitably positioned and joined with ‘object union’ then a bit of smoothing. The result is more or less chair shaped.

Paul

Hi Paul.

another way to build a chair fast is…….l

use the extrude tool..its great.

but i dont think alot of people use it.

kirk

you will have more control of the shape of the chair and textures will andquot;LAYandquot; better.

Your modeling is very good.
your chair texture should be twisted…use this button to correct the texture. it will take out the blur and fix the pattern.

Fantastic work paul.

Working late again….

Making progress……

You spoiled my interpretation, I thought those were a thimble collection! ;D
andnbsp; How about modeling the objects separately, store them in the objects file until needed? Don’t forget, 3DC uses a lot of resources, too.

Another view

Really nice detailing, Paul. Great computer screen! Water tank sucks though, needs a better glass texture and maybe a few bubbles.
andnbsp; That window view turned out just great! andnbsp;8)

Hi KB

Yes the water looks rubbish. Also the paper cups on the table look far too small. I’ll have to sort all these things out for the next version.

Trouble with scenes like this is my pc slows to a crawl – probably too many models on screen at once.

A lot of the models are done separately. When I start putting them together and moving things about the screen update starts getting very slow. I get quite a lot of crashes too – don’t ask me why.

Anyway, I am trying to justify buying a new pc – dont spoil it by making helpful suggestions!

Paul

Ok-OK… If I were you, I’d get rid of that lame dinosaur, MY GOD, MAN, YOUR WORK IS SUFFERING !! andnbsp;;D

We’ve never been scolded before for helping on any topic. [ always a 1st time ] We can always e-mail.

I use a Viewsonic VX 900 LCD. I’ll never buy another CRT. The picture is mind boggling ! Huge difference! It’s maxed out at 1280 x 1024 x 70. They do have models that go to 1600. andnbsp;Never had a problem modeling or games, well once, when I had the refreash rate at 60 it will stutter.
andnbsp;Switched from NVidea GTS 2 Pro card to a Radeon 9000 Pro 128mb. Made a big difference playing games and I do have less trouble with 3-DC, at least memory related woes. Excellent graphics and endlessly adjustable. You need max memory, but you need to check out the other options, depending on use. Smoothvision, anoso…p.ic.. Aww- you know- stuff I can’t spell, but is important. When in doubt- spend more money!
andnbsp;Hope this helped a little.
