Texture Issue with 6.6.10

Thanks! The tip lead me to a solution but I’m not sure of what the root cause was.

When I tried to load the tiled texture used for the footplate or the (untiled) cab interior texture I got a ‘Unable to load texture, file may be corrupt’ message. Interestingly the image appeared in the material sample window but not in the window with the texture applied to the sample object.

The textures were both tgas created with PSP 7.0 which I’ve found to play well with msts ace creators. Having had PSP version issues in the past I opened the textures with PSP 8.0 and saved them. Opening the model again in 3DC resulted in a correctly textured model.

I haven’t tried exporting as the models are complete asis and I really don’t want to chase PSP/ACE compatibility issues right now <!– s:) –><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_smile.gif" alt=":)" title="Smile" /><!– s:) –>.

Thanks again for the tip, I’ll let you know how 6.6.10 works out.

In trying out 6.6.10 I found a texturing issue with some 6.5.05 created models. See the attached image and note incorrect texturing on the footplate (should be safety tread pattern) and all white texturing for the cab interior and step behind the inverter panels. The model opened correctly with 6.5.05 yesterday. The texture files are in the same folder as the model. Advice gladly accepted.

I had this happen on the ’tiled’ textures on my model. I re-select the FACES involved… select the Material again and then select the ‘UPDATE MATERIAL’ plugin. It seems to a problem when the model gets migrated from previous versions.

This solution seems to work for me, so far.
