Strange behaviour / Wrong message when texturing an object

OK.
I didn’t notice that the delete layer was checked but was not selected (in blue).

Crop some texture.
Apply to object with orange arrow (a simple scaled cylinder).
The message shown below is displayed.

If I reply NO, the object is not textured.

You can try on the same 3DC file as [img:2soavo6p]http://amabilis.com/forumattachments/a/tpc/f/179102192/m/113107192[/img:2soavo6p]

.

(Same problem with 7.1.2 but I didn’t report it as 8.0 was coming soon)

I can’t get to the file. I know what this message usually means, so once I get the file it should be easy to fix.

The file is used in 3 of my topics.

I used this time the same host as Paul’s plugins. I hope it will be more reliable.

This is actually correct. There is a ‘delete face’ operation that follows in the layers list that will be disabled if you apply a material. The idea is that the face may not be there after the material is applied.

Strictly speaking a material shouldn’t change the number of faces, but because of how materials are applied (currently), the order of faces can change. I’d like to change this in a future release, but there are other priorities first of course. There always are, it seems.
