Small inadvertant shifts on locked axis ???

Morn’n Folks,

Something else I’ve noticed when I model which is not unique to the latest version of 3DC… Probably like everyone else – I do many face and edge shifts when modeling… I normally lock 2 out of the 3 axis to precisely control the movemnet… When I look at my modified shapes in MAX Zoom wireframe mode – I note small imperfections in the shape… I also note that there are small minute shifts in axis which I had locked… Most of the time it’s not a hude deal as it will be to small to notice on the finished model… Some times though – when trying to join two faces seamlessly – it can be a big problem… I’ve noticed this while using both "Standard Coordinate Mode" and "Object Coordinate Mode"…

Would anyone know how I can stop this from happening ???

Regards,
Scott

I have a pretty good idea what causes this. It’s a "math thing". 3DC often has to convert a shape to world coordinates to perform operations. When it is converted back to model coordinates there can be minute changes in the position. And because constrain is now in world coordinates, I don’t see how there is a way around it.
