Small difference between 8.0 and 7.1.2 (Workaround Posted)

I’m going to call this one resolved. I’m not going to find a solution with one sample. It could well be that the bug that caused this existed in 7.1, but not 8. And, it only became visible in 8.

The difference is in the orange circle:

On the 8.0 image, you can see the faces of the object.
The face with the black hole texture is different.

It can be seen on the same 3DC file as [img:20onstvm]http://amabilis.com/forumattachments/a/tpc/f/179102192/m/113107192[/img:20onstvm]

.

The area was added and textured well after the rest of the model was textured.

I have no idea about this one. Maybe I have messed something up with normals. I’m going to have to think about this one.

The file is used in 3 of my topics.

I used this time the same host as Paul’s plugins. I hope it will be more reliable.

The file hosting worked, but the part shown in the picture is not in this file, or perhaps the texture is missing?

I uploaded a wrong file.
I’ll post it again.

Here it is.

I see what the problem is, but I just can’t think what in the upgrade to 8.0 could cause it. It is that the normals are reversed. A crease fixes it. It’s just that the upgrade should not cause it. Very strange.

OK. At least the workaround is simple and quick!
