Shift problem

I couldn’t reproduce this. I know there were problems with this with earlier versions of 5.0. I think it was fixed in 5.0b (which was later renumbered 5.0.2).

Could you tell me what version of 3DC you are using?

Richard

If I’m noting something that has already been noted, please forgive me….

I find that if I have my view set to 4 panels (1 up top and 3 below) and I try to shift an object in the side and front views, that it moves the wrong direction on the screen, making it hard to shift items. After you stop shifting, the screen shows that it did indeed shift the direction it should have, it just didn’t show you while it was doing it.

To help clarify the mess of words above:
Choose the 4 view that has 1 main window and 3 small windows below.
Place a cube on the 3DC.
Chose point and face selction.
Highlight the right face of the cube
Using the bottom right window, try to move it RIGHT by clicking and dragging left on the lighter right triangle in the bottom right corner of that box…

(at this point, on the two computers I’ve tried this one, the face doesn’t show that it is moving left on the screen, it looks like it it moving back?, but when I let go of the left mouse button, it suddenly snaps to the left as though it was moving that way all along…I can play until I get it where I want, but it is very difficult to do, when you can’t see it on the screen)

Don’t know if this is a know bug or what, I work around by using other windows most of the time…I included a before I let go and after I let go shot to help illustrate.

5.0a here…though I thought I had 5.0.2 at home as my models have to be andquot;convertedandquot; when I transfer them…
I’ll download the newest version when I get a chance to see if that helps.

Thanks!
