mine usually highlight with cyan or yellow dots – these can be very small when you are a long way from a large object.

Selecting faces is easy, but selecting points is incredibly difficult. How do you know when a point is selected? For instance, I go to select a point to weld one to another. Problem is, unlike a face which the edge or lines highlight, I see no change when I try to click a point. Any help be appreciated. Thanks!
