Selected point(s) are not highlighted. (Likely resolved fo

I’m very confident that this is a driver issue.

Can we check this again when 8.1 is released?

I’ll call it resolved for now.

With 8.0.0.1 and
– HP Pavilion laptop
– Pentium 4, 2.8 GHz
– 768MB Ram
– XP Home Edition, SP2
– ATI Mobility Radeon 9200 Integrated Graphics 1280×800 32bit
– Latest driver from ATI/HP
– dxdiag reports DirectX 9.0c (4.09.0000.0904) ‘no problems found’

In point select mode, via button or ‘1’, selected points are not highlighted. Selecting any point results in a single (random? 0 index?) point being highlighted. Makes it a tad dicey to model <!– s;) –><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_wink.gif" alt=";)" title="Wink" /><!– s;) –>

Point selection/highlighting in 8.0.0.1 with my Desktop machine works as expected.

This seems similar to my missing group indicator problem.

This is an interesting one.

Do the points highlight when you hover over them?

Had to refresh my memory…

Example 1:
– Drop a cube on to the scene.
– Select points mode.
– Hovering over any point causes the corner closest to scene origin (object xyz -.5,-.5,-.5) to highlight blue but not the ‘hovered over’ point. If you rotate the cube, the corner originally closest to scene origin still highlights blue when hovering over any point.
– Points are still selectable and can be modified, they just don’t highlight.
– Selecting any point changes the highlight color to yellow as expected.

Example 2:
– Drop a cube onto the scene.
– Select points mode.
– Select cube object point -.5, .5, .5. Cube point -.5, -.5, -.5 highlights yellow.
– Select cube object point .5, .5, -.5 (CTRL – Right click to call up ‘add edge’ menu). The first point changes color to blue (as you mouse away) until the second point is selected. Cube point .5, .5, -.5 now highlights yellow and the first point also highlights yellow.

Edge and face selection seem to work/highlight correctly.

Any additional experiments you’d like to see?

Edit: Corrected last xyz value.
