Select Face, Double Side Plugin = CRASH.

well, I truly understand about work load.

Apparently, I never noticed that the operation was there before… I was on autopilot re: ‘the plugin’.

I’m using the painful export to 3ds, insert into GMAX with some success, but I’m just itching to avoid GMAX altogether… good luck… take it slow.

Select Face, Double Side Plugin = CRASH.

Doesn’t always happen… happens a lot.

doesn’t happen on Whole Object selection.

Any ideas?

Must be my poor programming <!– s;) –><!– s;) –>

plugin or operation?
I’ve had it happen a couple of times with the operation, which is marginally more complex than the plugin.

– I’ll take a look when I get a chance

It’s probably my fault. I know the ‘Merge Faces’ plug-in has the same problem. I would guess they use similar functions.

EGAD… I’m not bashing PAUL!!!

I didn’t know if i was doing something wrong or not. I figured it was a pretty complex function.

I neglected to say that the mesh started life as 5.7a model… and has been migrating up with each version… hope that isn’t the root cause.

I will say, that it’s the double-side plugin… not the operation… I guess I could try it the other way… and of course it works!!! I guess my results are opposite to yours Paul. Odd, huh?

And come to think of it… I have had Merge Faces do the same thing… I just use it less.

No worries Pete, I was just joking….

I’ve been struggling with huge amounts of train sim programming for various projects. Not all of it has worked recently, shape viewer caused a big headache and the trainz export is on hold while I finish off a commercial project.

I do need to re-visit all the plugins and operations at some point, just as a reminder, before Richard completely changes the entire object model for 3DC 7 – I hope I can get everything done before he’s finished <!– s:D –><!– s:D –>
