Screen resolution problem

Hi all,

I am having problems on my laptop. If I run 3DC in 16 bit resolution it runs but when I change to 32bit resolution all I get is the side menus and a black square backdrop which I cant do nothing with. It used to run fine on 32 bit the same as my desktop, but I did not use it for about 6 months (3DC on laptop) then when I started it back up, this problem occured. Any ideas on how to fix it back to 32 bit resolution?.
