runtime error ‘429’

Thanks Paul. I’ve been keeping an eye out for people with that problem and so far so good. The main problem people are having are a ‘Unable to configure DirectX’ error that only happens in 6.5.0.7 and 6.6. Still looking for the cause.

Richard

3DC doesn’t load up. It has never happened before…
keep getting:Runtime error 429
ActiveX component can’t create object
Please help! Must fix this.

Have you updated/added any other software lately?

The first thing to do is uninstall 3DC and the Upgrade and reinstall.

Richard

Thanks Richard, I’ll try this.
A few days ago I got connected to broadband, a new modem and instalation disc. This surely couldn’t have had an effect??

It wouldn’t surprise me. Though it does seem unlikely.

Richard

I uninstalled the lot and re-installed.

Everything’s back to normal. <!– s:) –><!– s:) –>

Thanks Richard.

This runtime error 429 is back <!– s:? –><!– s:? –>

The last time this happened, I uninstalled all 3DC programes and folders, everything was fine then when I re-installed them. This time no chance <!– s:( –><!– s:( –>, just keep getting the runtime error – ActiveX component can’t create object <!– s:? –><!– s:? –>
Why can’t ActiveX create object?
I haven’t been able to use 3DC for at least a week now. And I have alot of stuff to work on.

Please help <!– s:) –><!– s:) –>. Has anyone else ever had this problem

James.

This is whatI found on the net about ActiveX.

I am getting a Runtime error 429 (ActiveX Component can’t create object)

You get this error if your ActiveX control or COM object is not registered in the registry.
You can solve your problem with the following command:
regsvr32 c:YourPathTHBImE20.dll
This command registers the dll again.

You get the same error when you move the dll to a different folder or if you rename it.
regsvr32 c:YourPathTHBImE20.dll
Rename or move the folder YourPath to NewYourPath
And you will get the error too because c:YourPathTHBImE20.dll is an invalid path.

does anyone understand this… or know how to fix this?

Thanks

James

I would look at using the ‘System Restore Wizard’ to correct the problem. Search the XP help for more information.

Also, you could send me your 3DC.log file from c:program files3DC (<!– e –>support@amabilis.com<!– e –>).

I assume you looked at this: [img:1qt0zxfb]http://www.amabilis.com/faq.htm#Error429[/img:1qt0zxfb]

This sorted the problem.. everything’s back to normal again… just have to up-date all the plug-ins…thanks again..

James

This error started happening recently with my MS Train sim model viewer program on several PC’s around the world.

Aparently DX8VB.DLL had become ‘unregistered’.

This won’t affect 3DC at the moment, but with the render engine upgrade to DirectX 8.1 for version 7.0, it may start appearing.

It could also affect users of 3DC 6.6
