registering plugins 8.2

Hi I am new and slow too,I have vista 32bit and have had no problems. A friend of my has vista64bit, and most 32bit programs run OK, however there is an issue on safety (vista 32/64 and W7) if you are not logged in as admin the registering of the plugins will fail, on the use of more accounts on a computer there is an interesting article on the amabilis site:

instal on multiuser systems vista/7

Also the installers are in msi format, in vista (if correct) you have no option to chose run as administrator. I have to look if it is possible to install the plugins in save mode logged in as admin.

You may try to instal from c: copy the 3dcplugins82.msi file to the main drive usually c:, and install from there.
It was the way I did it, and i believe it worked, however I am not using the plugins yet.

Hi, I just downloaded 8.2 and have been trying to register the plugins with no luck. I have Vista 64 (older version). I have followed all the post and tryed suggested solutions, still no luck. I’m sure I’m missing something. Also I can’t register 8.2 with my old reg number. you are going out to a dos prompt to do it?
That was the step I kept missing.

Thanks BigPeter, yes I did try to regeister plugins. at the cmd, but no luck. I’m wondering if it’s because I can’y get 3dc 8.2 to reconize my license. So it’s not in professional mode???

Ok, Tried to register a plugin again and got a windows pop up window that reads, ‘the module ‘addtriangletoedge’ may not be compatiable with the version of windows you’re running. Check if the module is compatible with x86 (32-bit) or x64 (64-bit) version of regsvr32.exe.’ Are these modules (8.2 download) compatible? Thanks for the help again, Red Bear
