If I use a cube primitive, it seems to depend on which face I try to join two points on as to whether or not it crashes.
When I define two new points and try to join them I get in more than 50% as a first result some 3DC crashes. Sometimes I’m lucky the 3rd or 4th time sometimes I have to try this nervewrecking process up to 10 times. It’s not always easy to catch and select the points and more than often you think you have a point selected but you only think so……
I think there were some changes in 4.24 to help this, but I am not certain. Are you on 4.24?
Richard
Hi Richard,
I have exactly the same problem when joining points, I get crash after crash and it can take quite a few reloadings of 3DC pro to complete a task. Quite frustrating. I`m currently using 4.24. I don`t remember having such a problem using earlier versions.
4.24 does not seem as stable as previous versions but this may be because I am now trying to achieve more complicated things with it.

Kevin
Hi Richard,
Currently using :-
Celeron 500
128 meg ram
Elsa gladiac 511 video card (using Nvidia Geforce 2 MX/MX400 chip set.
windows 98
(Hope to be improving the set-up soon though)
regards
Kevin
Oh, could you let me know what video cards/processors/windows version you are using?
I can imagine that this is really frustrating. I made a change in 4.24 that was intended to support a wider range of hardware that I think may have had the opposite effect. I’ll be removing this particular change in 4.3. That might be the cause. Unfortunately I have never had this happpen on either of my computers so it is hard to detect the cause.
Richard
This also happens to me on my Geforce 2 GTS computer <!– s:( –><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_sad.gif" alt="" title="Sad" /><!– s:( –>.
I think it might have to do with the geforce cards.
