Problems with ATI display adapter

For my current project I have now transferred the files to my Laptop and you wouldn’t believe it, 3DC didn’t start on this machine either although I had used it without any problems on my last journey. But this was a well known error #429 to me, so I entered the registry entry manually and now it works. Workspace on the laptop is somewhat limited and working is generally slower but I’m able to finish my commercial project on time, hopefully. After next weekend (the deadline for the project) I’ll try to revive 3DC on my main machine (even if I don’t know how at the moment). If that won’t work I’m afraid I’ll have to abandon 3DC and go for an alternative program. (I’d hate the latter option though!)

I too get it – pretty much anytime I try to make a face double sided or work with a double sided face within 3DC 6.6. At first I thought it might possibly be related to the Catalyst drivers but I don’t have any such recurrent problems with this error in 6.5.

Which error? # 429 you can read about solutions in the FAQ section of the amabilis website. The other one is a Visual Basic error-code and is mentioned with links etc in the posting of Vulcan_Foundry above.
BTW. with luck the Freeware-version of 3DC now runs on my computer again. I keep trying with the full version.
