Problem with backdrops

I always use backdrop pictures as they come. I copy them into a square and that’s all. The measurement is irrelevant because I resize the model after building the parts I need the backdrop for.

I agree, a measurement tool would be super; there is none at the moment. I use cubes aligned with the parts I want to measure. The scaling tool then tells me the values of the cube i.e. what I wanted to measure. A bit complicated and tedious, so we’d love to see a tool.

I mentioned the AGES ago, just wondered if there is a fix yet, I would like to use back drops to help me position parts of a loco for MSTS – unfortuanatley if the model if an odd length ie 53andquot; as oposed to an even length (ie52andquot;) the images is not displayed correctly. I now know it is not just me as I have spoken to 2 friends(both of which I recomended to 3DC and they both have the same problem). As another point I just wondered if there is a measure tool available (like the one in Train Sim Modeller as I for one would find it very usefull).

Cheers Guys

Hi again,

I think my internet explorer is having a bad day! I could not see the text in your reply just a link to a reply!.

I have tried to use the method you sugest but I need a proper size back drop so that I can place the wheels (steam loco) at the correct spacing after scaling.

Thanks for replying though.

Take Care
Jason
