Problem importing .3ds file

Jason,

The problem I am having is with 3DS files created in TurboCad (v15.2). I have found a couple of ‘work arrounds’ which allow the file to import.
1. In TC you select each of the objects individually (rather that use any form of group selection) and then export the selection to 3DS.
2. Alternativly you put all the objects to be exported into one layer in TurboCad then you can use any form of object selection. Export the selection including ‘framework’ into 3DS.
The original export was a multiple layer group selected export. This failed to import into 3DC but was viewable OK in a 3DS file viewer. Both the ‘work arrounds’ are also viewable OK in a 3DS Viewer.

Hi all,

I was just wondering if anyone can throw some light on this for me, I am trying to import a .3ds file into 3DC and get the message ‘AT3dx Access violation 00000044 Read address 00000044’

I can open othe files ok and i know that the original .3ds file works with 3ds.

Any ideas / suggestions would be greatfully recieved.

Many Thanks

Jason

I also seem to be having a similar problem importing some file types. I am trying to move some CAD created models into 3DC Pro (7.1.2.0).
Using the 3DS and WRL imports both say Access Violation at address 000001AD Read of address 000001AD. The DXF import will not work and does not give an error report until 3DC shuts down when it says ‘External exception C000001D’.
