pov-ray blurs

Happy to help… and happy modeling and rendering <!– s:D –><!– s:D –>

I hope this is a question I can ask here, POV-Ray being a separate prog all together from 3DC, however, being integratable, maybe someone knows the answer. Besides that, haven’t found cool forum on PR like 3DC has (thx, very much)

When I render a scene straight in 3DC, comes out fine, however, when I check the Raytrace box, it renders (with minor difficulties I haven’t yet had time to research) produces nice raytrace effects, but the same scene is blurred badly.

Is this something that needs to be set inside the POVRay standalone, or something I can correct in 3DC?

If I can pull out enough wit to figure out your image procedures here, this is a test shot using pov-ray for reflection on a couple of characters from a toon strip I write (no comments on the talent level, folks, it’s supposed to be simplistic)

note the pronounced blur (given I got it right)

Thanks

Hello gmani

Have you tried the camera settings. Right click
on the camera and enter properties. In here you
can change the camera settings, which can change
the way your scene looks, small changes can have
a big effect

Can you send me the model (<!– e –>support@amabilis.com<!– e –>). I can render it myself then and see if it happens on my computer also.

Richard

it sounds like you have the focal blur on. try unchecking it in the animation camera properties. you might, if focal blur is on, have the focal point at something other than zero (dead center) on the slider.

right click/properties…. ah! There it be, I think. Yup. Worked.
ok, didn’t know I could do that. Dang, but I love having knowlegeable people around.

Thank you korben and polybuilder, that worked.

And thank you Amabilis for the offer, won’t need to send now.
