Odd texture mapping situation

I guess nobody has a solution for this since no-one responded. The only thing I can suggest is sending the texture to me (<!– e –>support@amabilis.com<!– e –>) with instructions on how to cause the freeze and I can try it myself.

This is somewhat unusual concerning applying texture to a model. Yesterday I was making my locomotive model (RS27) and wanted to apply a texture as a test. In Photoshop I made a new 512×512 BMP (via a *.psd file with layers) using a few hood textures. I made a ‘map’ in 3DC (I have 6.5) and used that map to apply the texture. I tried to apply the texture in 3 different ways without success. I tried the face selection (UV Mapping), the fill and paint tools to try to apply the texture in some manner. The result was if I selected the face and used the UV map selection tool the program would start to do the function then stop and hang there indefinitly. If I tried to select a portion of the texture and use the Paint tool the face I clicked on would turn a yellowish green. If I used the Fill tool, the whole part would turn that same color…no texture I selected from the BMP would show.

But…if I went to another BMP file (I chose a 512×512 brick image) and selected the whole image then all aspects of texturing would work…flawlessly. I am stumped. I have never had this problem before. I haven’t changed anything to my system and I am using the latest version of DirectX. Other texturing tests I have done work fine as does the Plug-ins. 6.5 works well for me.

Not sure if this is a case of corrupted image files or I am doing something wrong and not realizing it. Thanks ahead for any help.
