Odd rendering booboo

fish out of water here but….

Do the andquot;artifactsandquot; align with faces ?
Do they alter if you inc/dec cloud spheres faces ?
Could it be reflection – remove specular setting ?
Could it be in the texture quality setting – does this effect d3d renders ?
Could it just be your video card/driver – if you want to send me the cloud/sky spheres I will render them and return the results ?
Could it be I have no ideas ?
Could it be I will have to stay in the temple longer ?
andquot;Grasshopperandquot;. <!– s:) –><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_smile.gif" alt=":)" title="Smile" /><!– s:) –>

And you do have to look [i:eb2h3xsi]very[/i:eb2h3xsi] hard…..

This is really odd…the D3D renderer doesn’t like alphamapped textures in certain circumstances.

Like in this shot, I have two cheesy sky spheres…one’s blue, the other has a translucent cloud texture. Look real close at the clouds, and you’ll see weird zigzag artifacts.

If you use a flat face for a cloud layer, it gets worse. It renders in offset andquot;stripesandquot; running down the screen. Any ideas why?
