I thought I’d share some screenshots from my game project with you, my fellow 3DC users. The models in this game were made with 3DC but I used Ultimate Unwrap 3d for texturing.
The game will be a hybrid between a space combat sim and real-time strategy. You can pilot every ship in the game, mine resources from asteroids and use them to build new buildings and ships. The game is based in an asteroid field. You can command your fleet from a battlezone/operation flashpoint -type command interface (function keys select ships/squads and number keys issue commands) or from a homeworld -type command screen. There will be ships ranging from small shuttles to large battleships. You can also actually dock on space stations and buildings constructed on asteroids by flying inside them, your ship won’t just simply disappear when docked like in most games. The game will feature both a single player campaing with a strong storyline and different multiplayer modes. The single player campaings can also be played co-operatively in multiplayer.
Here are the screenshots:

There are currently four members in our team, 2 artists and 2 programmers, and we’ve been working on this for about four years now. We are going to release the game as either retail or shareware at some point. No-one knows when though, this is just a hobby for now.
