Thank you VF, knew abou the terrain tool. However, this won’t work on a standard modified primative. (or will it?)
and yes! Thank you polybuilder, precisely what I needed. <!– s:) –><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_smile.gif" alt="" title="Smile" /><!– s:) –>

is there a ‘noise’ or poly orientation randomizing function in 3DC, such as can be found in 3dmax?
Said tool reorients faces of a selected object in a somewhat more random orientation given axially pre-selected, numerically weighted values.
The effect is similar to ‘crumpling’ a piece of paper.
I haven’t seen this function in 3DC anywhere, does it exist?

The noise function in 3DS Max was used mainly to build random fractal terrain or to apply the same effect to create a flag and make it look as though it is waving in the wind. 3DC does have such a tool, Its called the terrain tool and its the last box in you object building tools and looks like a ‘squashed crown’. Simply drag it onto your scene and apply whatever setting you want. <!– s:) –><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_smile.gif" alt="" title="Smile" /><!– s:) –>
