no textures when importing 3ds files

Hi everyone.
Richard (amabilis support) mailed me, that the problem will be fixed in the next revision. Now it is also possible to import the 3ds files corretly, when the directory, in which the 3ds file (incl. texture files) is in the root directory and has no spaces in it e.g.: c:MyObject .
I want to thank Richard for his quick solution. This is the second time I have a problem, and the second time when amabilis fixed it in a short time. That’s really great <!– s:) –><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_smile.gif" alt=":)" title="Smile" /><!– s:) –>. There are bigger firms, that doesn’t have such a great support.
Thanks, Rainer.

Hi. When I import big 3ds files, wich are already full with textures, then 3DC shows me the model without the textures. Thanks, Rainer.

Hi Alan.
I already put the textures and the model in the same directory. I also think, that 3DC uses them, but it simply don’t shows them.
Rainer.

I don’t use 3ds so a guess….

Try putting your textures and model in the same folder and then import it into 3dc……

Hi Richard,
What do you mean with type? I sent you a 3ds model from a tank. If you import this one, DC don’t show you the textures.
Thanks, Rainer.

What type of texture file are they?

Richard

The textures imported on my computer. What did you answer when asked if you you wanted to optimize on import? Answering andquot;Yesandquot; could cause you problems with textures.

Richard

I just checked again and found that the textures did [b:29v6g0ab]not[/b:29v6g0ab] import properly. I’ll have to look into this further.

Richard

Hi Richard,

Are there any updates on that matter?

Thanks, Rainer.
