Newbie: Animating a rotating object

Thanks, Bazza, that does the trick! Now I just need to learn how to center my object and properly place the camera to get the right angle of view.

Cheers,
Tommy

Hi there, this is my first post, so be gentle <!– s;) –><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_wink.gif" alt=";)" title="Wink" /><!– s;) –>

I recently bought 3DC Pro to help me create graphics for my games.

What I currently want to do is create a model and let the model rotate around it’s center y axis.
I think I need it in animation to create single images (say every 30 or 45 degrees) to be used in a game later.
Hints on how to get a certain angle of view (say something like an isometric view from slightly above) are highly appreciated.

Wouldn’t that make a nice beginner tutorial for pirate’s contest? And it would certainly help me <!– s:D –><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_biggrin.gif" alt=":D" title="Very Happy" /><!– s:D –>

Thanks in advance,
Tommy

You need to set the camera to animation mode.
See attached pic.
1)Right click anywhere on a blank area of the viewport.
2)From the drop down menu choose Camera and tick Animatiom.
3)You could just use the Rotate/Move gizmo to position and rotate the camera as required.
4)Or Open the Hierarchy panel as in the pic, Right click on the Camera in the Hierarchy Panel and choose Properties.
5) In the properties panel you can set the degree of rotation for any axis…in the pic it was set to x=20 y=0 z=0
