I found probably another bug. I tried to import some .obj files. Small files was working fine but a human head with 540 kb was needing a loooooong to load and working with it was impossible because each try to change something freezed the machine up. And the loading of files around 550 kb I got error messages of about it was not able to open the file. And I have to open the file in wordpad and saving it again. But that did not help at all.

I need help in the case of solving crashes. I have buildup a simple model but before I was finished 3DC crashed. Then I tired to reload the model I’ll get it on the screen and then freezes 3DC again. With the result that I lost my model.
It seems that it crashes as soon I’m applying textures.
And undoing results sometime in an unrecoverable error.

Yes, 3DC does run on XP.
Notebook computers are notious for the limited video cards/drivers. Some of the newer ones are pretty good, but even now it is possible to buy a notebook computer that really doesn’t do 3D very well.

I will anyway soon buying a new power machine! <!– s:) –><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_smile.gif" alt="" title="Smile" /><!– s:) –> An AMD Athlon 1900+ with GF 4 4600 and 512 MB RAM! (Please don’t drool on the floor!) <!– s;) –><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_wink.gif" alt="" title="Wink" /><!– s;) –>
Now I’m only fudging and playing a bit with 3DC. The machine I have it on now is a notebook with a weaker graphic card. (LOL! Intel graphic: It sux a bit.)
BTW: Will 3DC running on Win XP?

I have all the newest drivers. And I have Dx 8.1 installed. Sometime I can work a complex object with textures and get no problem. Another time it crashed. The crashes are more like hook ups.

Seravajan,
There was a bug discovered recently where a freeze occurs if a face with more than 49 points it painted.
It will be fixed very soon (within a couple of days.)

I get 3DC freezes each time I’m applying textures to an object with round faces.
