MSTS/3DC Overview…

All,

Just an FYI… Started a high level overview on steam engine modeling with 3DC over on TrainSim… This isn’t the nuts and bolts detailed "how-to" – that Paul did such a magnificent job producing (hosted on steam4me site) – this is more – here are some of the really cool features that makes 3DC better than the rest at modeling trains… Its intent is to take some of the voodoo/black magic/arcane arts fears out of building a steam locomotive for the first time – and – to hopefully entice some new blood to dive in a and try modeling…

If you have a moment – take a gander… If I am missing something or just plain wrong – feel free to pipe in… It’s an on going project… Hah – might even generate some new sales to motivate Richard to get the .NET version done… I’ve had several people approach me offline already regarding 3DC…

3D Crafter ??? Uggh… <!– s:cry: –><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_cry.gif" alt=":cry:" title="Crying or Very Sad" /><!– s:cry: –> Just my humble opinion – can’t please all of the people all of the time… Ahh well – it’s just a name… Now let’s get these bugs worked out of 3DC 8…

Hi Scott

Nice tutorial – I’ll be following this with interest. Perhaps worth a post on UKTrainsim too?

3DCrafter eh? Could have been worse. Like ‘The 3D modelling program which used to be known as…..&quot;

Perhaps Richard should have held out for a while longer, then changed the name to 3DCease and desist……..

Cheers

John
