More than one group is a scene . . .

You can always do a copy and then past to add the object to a new scene.

Sometimes models are too big for one download and thus require more than one upload package. During the construction process I want to pull into a scene a model I have made previously. So far as I can tell, 3DC has no utility that will allow me to open more than one model at a time, putting the two together, into the same scene. So, is there a way to call-in another model temporarily, to make sure that the various parts fit? I hope that I’ve my problem understandable.

Thanks in advance,

I’m not sure if it will do exactly what you want but when I’ve had to use two objects for one project, I’ve opened one object, selected the whole hierarchy then saved it to a parts library (someone suggested opening a library for just this one project/model). Then you can open the next model/object and drag the previous one from the library into the scene.

Thank-you for your pointer. Using it, I went into the 3DC HELP directory and found information about the Object Library. Objects found in this library, can, indeed, be dragged and dropped into the current scene.

Cheers,

a3xt
