More precise texture cropping

Texture mapping I think is the weakest point in 3DC. Only being able to adjust the UV points one by one using the mouse or all of them using shift and scale buttons is very limiting. Would wish to be able to enter exact coordinates for points and to be able to select and adjust more than one UV point. If I could select one or more points and then use the shift and scale buttons then much would be gained.
