Model Scale and viewports;

Yes, I don’t understand either. The only time scale is an issue is if you are merging two measurement systems (IE; you have parts in imperial units aka ‘inches’ and you start to work with another developer that uses the Metric system)

Scaling up before export does not seem logical. You should be working in the units the game understands like real life ‘meters’.

As for display space, it’s completely adjustable, like William says. for example, I work in a 30M x 30M workspace with an offset of -15 so I model at 0,0,0. This way my full length items that are 85ft or less still fit in the work area. You just need to adjust the options to make things fit right before you start.

I want to construct a silo that is around one hundred twenty feet tall. I understand the need to scale the dimensions, up, prior to exporting the model into KRS.

How do I view the full size model in 3DC, when it will be so huge compared to the display space?

Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks;

I’m not sure I understand exactly what you mean but, the display ‘space’ is whatever you need to see the entire object. All you do is zoom back to see the entire object. If you’re referring to the grid background, then you merely need to make this bigger. I personally don’t use just the 10×10 grid as it comes in the install. I have increased the grid size to 100×100 and set it’s origin to x=-50 and z=-50 so 0,0,0 is in the middle of the horizontal plane. Hopefully this will clarify things.
