Model collapsed to cube (resolved)

I have this fixed for the new release.

I don’t know if this qualifies as a bug or there could be some other reason, but last night I was working on a train station building which began as a cube using mostly extrusions. Suddenly, for no obvious reason, the station collapsed back to the original cube. All the layers were still there, but there was no means of restoring the model as the program itself did not crash. I lost perhaps an hour’s work as a result and had to continue with a previously saved version of the model. The experience was disconcerting to say the least. I am using v.8.1.7.

This has happened a second time last night, this time when I went to save the model.

Hello,

Do you still have your saved model?
I’m using 8.2: I could see if it looks OK (i.e. all layers properly rendered) with this version.

I have since ‘optimized’ the model so all the layers are gone. I have just installed 8.2 so I will see if this happens again and if so, I will send you the file. For the time being, I just save frequently. My reason for posting was to see if anyone else had the same experience.

I’m curious too. I can imagine how this could happen. I know I had this problem at some point, and ‘thought’ I had it fixed, but I guess not.

Hello Richard,

I just sent a model and instructions to reproduce the problem (3DC 8.2 b1520).
