Merge two faces

::) Hah! I answered my own question. I chose all three faces on the front of my building with the [b:23zi7699]Point and Face Selection Tool[/b:23zi7699] using the CTRL key between each. Then I opened the [b:23zi7699]Object Operation Panel[/b:23zi7699] and clicked on the [b:23zi7699]Apply Material to Selection[/b:23zi7699] button. That covered the entire front with my selected texture with no seams in the design.

I guess for the doorway to be rendered properly, those extra faces have to be there. Another way to do it would be to use the [b:23zi7699]Fill Tool[/b:23zi7699] to texture the entire object and then use the [b:23zi7699]Paint Tool[/b:23zi7699] to touch up the textures on individual sides.

I’m learning!

Hi !

1) I’ve selected two faces, now i want merge them. Is is possible ? Where is the tool to do this ?

2) In the edge operation, can you create your own points on the surface : (see image).

Thanks !

Fantastic Richard !

Many thanks for this new plug-in !

Hi! I’m a new 3D modeler and am working my way through the various features of 3DC. I’m trying to reduce the number of faces so I can properly apply a texture to the front of my little building below. Trimming the 2 diagonal lines from the front creates a diagonal across my doorway. The [b:3irs1ywp]Merge Faces[/b:3irs1ywp] plug-in produced a similar situation. The top picture is before the trim/merge and the bottom picture shows the result.

The object is a single cube which I subtracted from to get the inside room and doorway. Is there a way I can make the front a single face?

Thanks! andnbsp;:)
