MDAC 2.5

When you add the sequence back you need to ctrl-alt-select, and then select a column. If you select an individual cell you will only get key-frames for that group/object.

Richard

The link for MDAC is for v. 2.5, what about 2.6 or 2.7? andnbsp;I ask, because I recieve error #91 despite the fact that I already have 2.5 installed. andnbsp; Will later releases of MDAC solve my problem? andnbsp;I get the error when attempting to edit an existing key-frame on an object while in animation mode. andnbsp;

You could try a later version. The important point is that 2.5 must be installed before 2.6 or 2.7.

If I were you I would try this first:

I did as suggested but still received #91. For the heck of it I also went to MDAC 2.6, still no change but no worse either. I get the error in animating an object, like the ant. Each limb you move creates a keyframe, but key frames are also created for the overall object. When I attempt to edit the keyframe for the whole object (Ant) and click on one of the blue keyframe markers the error appears. I was hoping that I could copy the object’s andquot;masterandquot; keyframe, that would take into consideration each limbs position within the hierarchy, and allow me to paste the copied ranges further into the timeline. Alas, this does not work and I will do each keyframe independently without benefit of a copy/paste.

Thanks,

Ken

Can you give me instructions on how to reproduce this with a single cube? For example when you say andquot;select the groupandquot; what do you mean? Possibly you could send me a very simple 3DC scene that fails under specific circumstances. (<!– e –>submissions@amabilis.com<!– e –>)

Ken,

Does this problem happen with a simple animated object like a cube travelling along a path? Can you move the key-frames for it?

Richard

Richard,

A simple cube works fine with the exception of selecting the group the cube is in. andnbsp; When I select the group, which also has key frames, and then click on the timeline I get #91. andnbsp; Also with the cube, options like andquot;moveandquot; and andquot;copyandquot; work. andnbsp; In addition, in more complex models I cannot successfully name a sequence and apply it further into the timeline. andnbsp;I take that back, I can highlight the sequence and give it a name, but when I go to use it and hit the checkmark to apply it, I get unexpected results – it creates keyframes but they are all static. andnbsp; Also the andquot;timeline right clickandquot; move or copy feature does not work in complex models, yet they work fine on a cube. andnbsp; In the more complex models I am currently working with, I am posing the limbs to create a walking effect, not really moving the whole object at all – don’t know if this makes a difference but it might help.

Thanks,

Ken

I’m running Windows ME English version – I live in the States.

I have had a similar report from someone. I think he was in Germany. I am wondering if it might be related to location or version of Windows.

Richard

Ken,

I found the problem and it will be fixed for the next patch (3DC 5.7 rev 1).

In the mean time you should be able to avoid this error by clicking on an object/skin in the hierarchy rather than a group.

Richard

This next one shows where I have selected the group andquot;Turkeyandquot; that is the parent to all the limbs and the original object. andnbsp;I can select it fine, but when I actually click on a blue key frame on the timeline the error message appears. andnbsp;I will send this model to submissions.

Thanks,

Ken

I am attaching a series of images to show the steps leading to the error message. andnbsp; This first one is a simple model, a cube with a neck and arms smoothed twice followed by bones and the skeletal ranges defined. andnbsp; After I have established an animation timeline, I can select the neck from the hierarchy and click on a specific keyframe and successfully reposition it. andnbsp; The attached show an image of this.

If you can’t have a andquot;master sequenceandquot; then there is a bug. When I wrote it you could. I’ll check it out.

Richard

Alex,

You can append a andquot;master sequenceandquot;. All you need to do is select a hierarchy click the andquot;appendandquot; button and 3DC will append key-frames to each selected item.
