Hello All

andnbsp; andnbsp; andnbsp;The attached is a really early WIP but I had to share it with someone other than the Mrs. andnbsp;I’ve got a long LONG way to go but the attached is my try at a Exo-Armor from the DP-9 Jovian Chronicles PP RPG.

Comments are always appreciated.

Thanks

You’re getting off to a good start on that exo. I hope you keep posting more pics as work progresses, because I’d really like to see that model finished.

I’ve never played JC, but I still have almost all the Heavy Gear RPG materials from the first edition. I’ve never thought about modeling Gears though…there’s an idea.

Here’s Roboman with the use of gyroscoping wheels.

Still needs a lot of work but as I am almost out of time and I don’t think I will get ant time to play over the weekend….

and another work in progress which I will try to finish (one day)

Hey Mel…..
Stupid question here……What is subdivision surface?? I just recently started playing again with 3DC, and am not familiar with everything.

Yes- please enlighten us, really like that spider-thingy [tech term]
I’d be willing to bet Les has an idea.

Could it be the andquot; Surface Object Building Tool andquot; ? :-/

Thats what I was wondering.I havent played with it at all yet. But I have used a subdivided object tool in other programs that lets you see the subdivided version of the model, even if its still in primitive form. This way you can shape as you go and know what it will look like when its subdivided. But I am thinking its the surface object tool. After seeing Mels bug, I’m really wanting to try and play with it..ALOT!

I’m really curious now about sub D. I need to start playing……. ;D andnbsp;( any tuts in the works on the subject??? hint, hint)

I like them all especially the spider bug thing Mel I’d really like to see a wireframe model of some of them though as I’d like to see how they are put together. andnbsp;

::)

Okay I’ll not ask for anything. andnbsp;I love all of your work guys. andnbsp;

Also, the picture earlier in this thread is an old shot…the most current snapshot is attached to this post.

WOW <!– s:oops: –><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_redface.gif" alt=":oops:" title="Embarrassed" /><!– s:oops: –> that was like one of the coolest robots I have seen.

Great model Mel. There’s alot to that model I’d like to try. I especially like the deformations ( the dent like details in the body) .And the recessed and rounded andquot;eyesandquot;. Great work. I just upgraded to 6.3 so I didnt even realize the autosmoothing was there!!! Kirk_Saavedra told me about it last night as we discussed your model. andnbsp;;)I’m gonna play with the autosmoothing this weekend.

PS…. any chance there may be a tut coming soon for the new features???? ( hint, hint Mel) Just kidding Mel, I know your a busy guy between the forums and your work. andnbsp;:P
