Hi to all,
I use POV-Ray normally with 3DC because they have a very easy connection: you download POV-Ray, install it and when in 3DC you want to render you must activate the andquot;Ray-tracingandquot; option.
Easy.
Of course I don’t write a single line of text in POV-Ray…
Of course you need the PRO version of 3DC…
Bye.

Hi to all,
isn’t a big problem.
Did you say andquot;only 3DCandquot;?
Well here there is an image 3DC only… andnbsp;
Bye.

To Kirk and all others who are making models.Don’t get me wrong.I think all the models that have been made are excellent work.I was just trying to get more people involved in making models for the challenge.Even if they can’t render then different.I love to look at all the models that have been created by 3DC.More people more models.
You guys keep making the models you are making they look great to me.

Re. pov/external renders
I agree that a model raytraced is normally going to look better than one rendered with directx but as this is a model challenge it is the model we are after which is why (rule 3) said:-
3. The model must be completed in 3DC – if any further work is done outside of 3DC (rendering/etc) then please show both the basic model and the finished scene. (and list any external programs used ?)
It is the andquot;basicandquot; (3dc) model that counts <!– s:) –><!– s:) –>
(also pov is free and very easy to set up – and once setup it is just a case of pressing a button in 3dc to raytrace your scene)

Yeah, it does look a lot like a Fuchikoma, hehe
I’ve been heavily influenced by Masamune Shirow in some design areas, especially small mecha. Plus that kind of curvy, round, bulbous design is a pretty good way to play around with subdivision surfaces.
After this, I think I’ll try an airplane.

Hehheh…here’s a lame render of my half-finished subdivision-surface bug, since we’re on the subject of robots…

LOL, somebody likes it!
Well….it sort of started as a bug. I mean, I knew I wanted to do a bug, but the details were a little hazy.
So I started with this 4-legged platform, and it ended up with 6 legs…then I got carried away with the details like the weapons and the various surface greeblies. I’m basically running with the ball and am gonna be adding a lot more surface detail to it.
Subdivision surfaces are fun, hehe

So, how did we end up with two March challenges? Was that intentional?

We had a vote and it was a tie (is that the right andquot;tieandquot; ?) so we have two <!– s:) –><!– s:) –>
