Ignore that paragraph, it is wrong.
For correctly quartered rods you must not combine the groups.
The TS Wizard also tries to combine the groups if you identify the rods during the wizard part id – this results in incorrect animations.
Basically – get the animation working correctly in 3DC and it should export properly.
Avoid part identification when using the MSTS Wizard.

The second paragraph of Amabilis site Animation Tutorial says in part ‘In order to reduce the amount of animation required, left and right side equivalent rods must be merged into a single unit.’-�
What is meant by ‘equivalent rods’-�- the main rods or all other rods, other then the connecting rods, that must be animated? Also what is meant by ‘merging them into a single unit’-� – putting them into one group or what?
