Light Leaks in night textures

Hi, Richard
In this particular case, all objects were siblings of the one frame using group objects function.
I fixed the problem, I think, and what did it was saving the original BMP texture file without redefining the cropping as a TGA file and then running it through makeace. andnbsp; The problem disappeared! andnbsp;
Why would this make a difference?
I’m still running beta2 and it doesn’t open TGA files without an error message. andnbsp;Do later versions fix this?

Thanks,
Hank

How can I stop andquot;light leaksandquot; in night textures in corner seams when texture is applied by face rather than flood? andnbsp;I crop well within the color boundary to avoid the ‘feathered’ edge.
Thanks,
Hank

Does the texture that andquot;leakandquot; have translucency?

Are all of the parts on the same frame? That could be an issue.

I think this has to do with rounding errors in the mathematics involved in rendering. This can happen if:

1) You have objects on multiple frames
2) you have objects that are on the same frame but have varied translucency.

Richard

Not intentionally. andnbsp; It’s a PSP7 image saved as bmp, because it had no translucency or tranparency properties/masks, and converted with the latest makeace.
It only happens as the viewpoint approaches at distance. andnbsp;Up close, the poly corners don’t flash light. andnbsp;I tried saving the s file both with and without the distance optimization. Still happens.
