Im Big on astronomy,I hand made a couple of scopes already.
I already attempted what you have done But I did it with a full sky dome Pic,180 deg. from one horizon to the other with the sky glow around the suface and all Looked Cool.Great for a game.
I can,t reconize any constillations in your pic.

I did this this afternoon because I had a millions better things to do, it has nothing to do with any of my projects, and it was easy <!– s;-) –><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_wink.gif" alt="

Maybe it belongs in scripting. andnbsp;I found by chance a list of the 518 brightest stars. andnbsp;So I made a script to put them as faces on a sphere and facing the origin. andnbsp;I then made a material that is very reflective and behold: a real sky map. andnbsp;These stars are on a sphere of radius 200, and a magnitude 0 star has a radius of 0.5 (I think).
Trubble is I can’t find anything I definitely recognise.
If this is useful to any of you star warriors let me know, and maybe we can make it useful.
