incorrect orthographic view

ATI drivers 3.10 corrected this problem.

I have different positions of some objects in the perspective and the orthographic view. See picture: there should be several flat pyramids filling the door-frames. With perspective view everything is ok but in orthographic view only the peaks of the pyramids are visible. The perspective view is the correct one as I can see after exporting to trainsim.
It’s possible to work around this problem with the perspective view, but it’s not always easy and at least disturbing. Any hints what to do?

Someone zip it to me, I’ll be glad to look at it.

Hi Hannes44,
I have the 9000, so look in the display settings- advanced- Direct 3D tab- andnbsp;compatibility settings.

Sent the model to <!– e –>support@amabilis.com<!– e –>

I’ve got a ATI Radeon 9600 TX and can’t find a 32 Bit Z-buffering switch. Anybody some experience with it?

Thanks KB. The Problem is I have the German version of the software and the only two possibilities I get with the Direct 3D tab is
andquot;support of DXT-texture formatandquot; – that can’t be it

and radio-buttons with something that translates as

andquot;change pixel-centerandquot; activate or deactivate. Is that related to z-buffering?
I’m not sure but I’ll try it anyway.

Mine looks similar and I found the compatibility settings but there is only above mentioned choice nothing about z-buffering.
I’m going to have a look at the ATI website or this 3D Guru site. Maybe I find something. Thanks anyway.

Btw activated the andquot;pixel-centerandquot; thingy but no change.

Just sent you the model.

Richard

Sent the texture too.

Sorry, Hannes,
andnbsp;Mine looks like this… after clicking the andquot; compatibility settingandquot; is where the Z-buffer is.

One thing you could look at is if you have 32 bit Z-Buffer enabled (your display adapter should have a setting for this). That could make a difference. It’s hard to say though.

I’m curious to have a look at this. Can you send me the model? (<!– e –>suppport@amabilis.com<!– e –>) To make it smaller make a copy, andquot;compact allandquot; and zip it. I don’t need the textures.

Richard

I’ve got a Radeon also and I don’t have this problem with your model. It looks good with both 32 and 16 bit z-buffer. Anyone else want to try looking at the model to see if they have the same problem?

I’m checking what driver I have.

Richard

KB:

Unfortunately I can’t send it to you since it isn’t mine to send.

Hannes44:

I just installed the latest ATI drivers. No change. Still OK.

Perhaps I do need the texture. Maybe this only happens when it is textured.

Thanks for trying.

Klaus

You’re right its a Medion 8008. Although I think 3DC does nothing with OpenGL I found and changed the setting to andquot;enforced 24-bit bufferingandquot; – andnbsp;but no change.
(a setting 32-bit buffering is not available).
I tried to install the latest drivers from ATI but installation aborts with the message andquot;no video driver foundandquot;. If you have experience with installing new drivers, please contact me via e-mail because I think that’s not a suitable topic for amabilis.
Thanks.

Hannes,
andnbsp;I’ve tried different card settings, also, but can not get it to do that. BTW- What a great model!

Hannes,

seems I have the same computer, Medion 8008, right?

You will find the Z-Puffer in the settings tab above if you choose [i:1g334f8q]OpenGl[/i:1g334f8q] – Kompatibilitatseinstellungen. It is deactivated.
