How does one move the ‘little yellow dot’ (Main Axis)?

Hi all,
He he, I have discovered that I need to move the little ‘yellow dot’. (Main Axis) Can anyone direct me in doing this seemingly impossible task? I have spent hours trying. In TSM it was quite easy.
The documentation is riddled with the misspelling of this word, axis, as axes, making it virtually impossible to search for anything related to it, other then entering the word axes, also.

I need to move the whole model along the ‘Y’ axis with all of its groups attached, leaving the little yellow dot where it is OR,
move the little yellow dot all by itself.

Thanking all of you kindly in advance,

Rick

P.S. I have the latest version of 3DC Pro as of a few days ago.
I’m the neewbie around here and am determined to learn this app. <!– s:) –><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_smile.gif" alt=":)" title="Smile" /><!– s:) –>

First you need to look at the model in an orthotic view (front, side, etc,). Then you need to use the shift tool to move the axis around. If you just want to move the model, click on it with the shift tool and move it where ever you want it. If you want only the axis to move, hold down the Ctrl key whike you move it. If you only want to move it in one direction, use the red, green, and blue X Y Z at the top of the screen to lock the proper axis. You said you need to move it in the Y direction, so click down the X and Z buttons to lock those directions and it will only be able to move in the Y direction.

Thanks all. I finely got it figured out.

Don’t you just hate newbies?
